TYING PINK FYGGI
Claus Eriksen invented Fyggi, and the fly imitates shrimps and Gammarus. Kaj Fugl noticed the resemblance between the fly and Fygi (Condoms produced by Fynske Gummivarer Industri) because of its rubber legs and named it Fyggi. Claus tied the first versions in tan, but over the years, it has been tied in different colors like the Pink Fyggi.

Step 1 – Tie In the Tail and Legs
Tie in your tying thread close to the hook’s eye and make even thread wraps until the tying thread is aligned with the hook’s barb. Take a few Krystal Flash fibers and tie them in for the fly’s tail. Continue with two Real Silicone Legs and tie them in on each side of the hook.
Step 2 – Build Up the Body
Make a dubbing loop and spin a dubbing noodle. Make even wraps with the dubbing noodle until you have built up the body. Tie off and secure your thread with a whip finish or a few half-hitches and a drop of varnish. Trim the legs to the desired length. Use a dubbing brush and brush up the underbody of the fly to give the fly more of the shrimp look.
How to Fish the Pink Fyggi
Fyggi is a fly that is often used during the summer. At that time, it works exceptionally well in smaller sizes and natural colors. During the winter you can try the larger sizes and stronger colors like pink or orange. When fishing the Fyggi fly, you should make small retrieves to make the legs move. It is also essential to take small breaks to let the fly sink.
